The Institute for Information Industry (III) , Taiwan, has formed a close partnership with the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) and has been fully engaged in helping Taiwanese firms to obtain international certifications. OCF and III held the conference on “Next Generation IoT Architecture” on June 7th at Taipei World Trade Center, where Dr. John Joonho Park, the Executive Director of OCF, gave updates on OCF and its strategy for 2018 and 2019, and OCF members, including VIA Technologies, Lynx Technology, and Microsoft Taiwan shared the latest development of IoT technologies and applications.
Under the leadership of Dr. Hsien-Tang Ko, III has actively promoted smart home applications and achieved notable success. In addition to providing updates on OCF during their visit to Taipei, OCF members also visited Microsoft Taiwan, the AI smart home built by Farglory Real Estate Development & Construction, and Askey Corporation, which is considering becoming an OCF member.
The event included various quality keynote speeches and demonstrations, attracting participants and visitors from around the world. “It is hoped that this event facilitates exchange of ideas and interaction in the industry, and that such a platform takes root and contributes to industry development,” said Dr. Cheng‐Chin Lu, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Industries Division of Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Looking into the future, OCF will bring more opportunities and innovations to the IoT industry. While a standardized specification allows developers and companies to tap into the IoT market faster, OCF strives to ensure the compatibility and security for consumers, companies, and the industry.
