Even though it is only three years’ old, CES Asia has already established itself as one of the leading technology tradeshows in China. This year’s event, which took place from June 7 – 9, attracted a reported 30,000 attendees, who flocked to see a dizzying array of robots, autos, drones, and smart home devices being displayed by over 400 vendors at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

CES 2020: THE Open Connectivity Foundation Debuts Initial International Standard for Smart Homes for Secure IoT Interoperability
The Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) announced Thursday that products from BSC Computer GmbH, COMMAX, Haier, LG Electronics, Resideo, Samsung Electronics and SURE Universal will be showcased in completely interoperable smart home demonstrations at the OCF IoT Breakthrough press event in Las Vegas next week.
These devices will complete OCF 2.1 certification in 2020, ensuring robust and secure connectivity between devices. Many of these and other OCF member companies will be commercially launching products based on the OCF specification in 2020.
Research shows that revenue from the smart home market is expected to show an annual growth rate of 17.6 percent, resulting in a global market volume of more than $141 billion by 2023. As the smart home market continues to rapidly grow, secure interoperability will be key in making the IoT successful.

The Open Connectivity Foundation to demo fully compatible smart home experience at CES
The Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF), an IoT standards body, will showcase products from BSC Computer GmbH, COMMAX, Haier, LG Electronics, Resideo, Samsung Electronics and SURE Universal as a completely interoperable experience for smart homes.
The demonstration is due to take place at the OCF IoT Breakthrough press event on Monday 6th January from 3-6pm PST at CES in Las Vegas.
The devices being demoed will compete OCF 2.1 certification this year, which will ensure robust and secure connectivity between devices. As well as these, many other OCF member companies will launch products based on the OCF specification in 2020.
According to OCF, secure interoperability will be key in making the IoT successful and thus developing the smart home market further.
