The Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) has presented an international standard for smart home devices. With this standard, such devices from different manufacturers should become interoperable.
The new standard, the OCF Certification Program, aims to help manufacturers of smart home devices create products that “just work” with other IoT devices with the OCF 2.1 certificate. It does not matter what the form factor, the operating system or the service provider is, according to OCF on its website.
